L’Ile aux Enfants is an independent non profit making primary school which teaches the French national curriculum. It was created in 1990 and moved to its present location in 1993. The only French school located in North London, it welcomes 195 francophone children of all nationalities to a warm, multicultural and bilingual family atmosphere. L'Ile aux Enfants is part of the international network of the French government agency Agence pour l'Enseignement du Français à l'Etranger (AEFE) which includes more than 400 schools around the world. Although subsidised by the French government, the school needs to charge fees. The school is regularly inspected by both the French Ministry of Education and by OFSTED. The School is not registered with OSFTED Early years as a day nursery and therefore cannot accept employers vouchers. Fees do not qualify for childcare tax credit.
